Oracular Vision Part I

Hello everyone, I apologize that its been a few days since I last posted. Since my last post I have finished two books. The Children of Dune and the God Emperor of Dune. After finishing those books I have to admit that the experience was spledid and my personal opinion is that Frank Herbert was a maniacal genius. His command of the English language to provoke engaging thoughts was superb. In particular, his discussions concerning the paradoxical consequences of using Oracular vision to see the future had me swimming in my own thoughts.

What of this notion he espouses which says that once you know the future you are bound to it. That once you glimpse into the Oracle it takes command of the future and you are as powerless to change it as you are in attempting to change your own past. He also made it clear that with Paul's visions if he tried to deviate at all from the main vine of his visions the results were catastrophic.

How does this concept relate to our own everyday lives? Lives were we have prophets in the church, psychic hotlines, and government sponsored remote viewing programs. If you believe that people are truly capable of tapping into future visions, isn't it a bit intimidating to think that by doing so they create a future that is unavoidable? First of all, let us consider why people do it? To make profit? To better peoples lives? To teach lessons? To protect this country and our way of life from would be invaders?

All are seeming acceptable reasonings for wanting to tap into the oracle but are these reasonings just rationalizations for doing something that no one should be attempting? I neither have the expansive knowledge nor the articulate wisdom to debate the finer points of whether not this practice does harm. All I know for sure is that people engage in the practice continually and who knows how many of them are actually legitimately able to see future events.

.....to be continued...
